An Oklahoma federal court has tossed a sanctions bid against lawyers for Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes members who sued tribal and government officials for supposedly conspiring to take control of the tribes' casino operations and gambling revenue, ruling that the officials failed to show sanctions are appropriate.

Members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes of Oklahoma hit the tribe's governor, former tribal officials, several nontribe members and two law firms with a complaint on Monday, alleging that they conspired to take control of the tribes' casino operations and gambling revenues, in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
