A Texas federal judge held Monday that Tuft & Needle can't escape litigation accusing the online mattress company of trashing Mattress Firm Inc. in a smear campaign to help the so-called bed-in-a-box startup get ahead, saying the false advertising suit raises viable claims.

Mattress Firm Inc. sued online mattress company Tuft & Needle on Monday in Texas federal court, accusing the so-called bed-in-a-box startup of smearing Mattress Firm's trademark with false advertising as it sought to break into the business.
