Google won out of allegations that YouTube illegally stifles free speech by censoring politically conservative videos Monday, as a California federal judge found a suit brought by nonprofit digit media company Prager University failed to establish the website as a public forum subject to the First Amendment.

Google and YouTube have asked a California judge to toss a suit accusing the tech giant and its video platform of illegally stifling free speech by restricting and demonetizing the content of a conservative online education group, arguing that all of the group's claims failed under federal law.

Prager University, a nonprofit digital media organization, sued Google Inc. and its video platform YouTube in California federal court, alleging the tech giant illegally stifles free speech by censoring its content, "solely because of PragerU's political identity and viewpoint as a nonprofit that espouses conservative views."
