Getinge Dodges Subsidiary's Blood Pump Patent Fight
A Massachusetts federal judge on Tuesday released Swedish medical device company Getinge AB from a battle over the legal rights to a blood pump method, saying Abiomed Inc. had failed to claim Getinge had any stake in the contested patent.

Maquet Sues Abiomed Over Blood Pump Patent
Maquet Cardiovascular LLC sued Abiomed Inc. for patent infringement in Massachusetts federal court last week, seeking to add damages and royalties for a recently approved patent to the companies' ongoing intellectual property feud over the technology rights to intravascular blood pumps.
