A Tennessee nursing home violated federal disability bias law when it fired a laundry technician who requested intermittent leave to help with her anxiety disorder, a jury ruled in a U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission suit that was revived by the Sixth Circuit in 2021.

EEOC Suit Tossed For Not Showing Anxious Worker Protected
A Tennessee federal judge threw out a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit claiming a nursing home violated federal anti-discrimination law when it fired a worker who sought accommodations for anxiety, saying the agency failed to show her anxiety qualified as a disability.
