NY Says State Immune To Tribe's Fishing Rights Suit
The state of New York urged a federal court Thursday to dismiss a tribe's suit alleging the state Department of Environmental Conservation improperly restricted its fishing rights and prosecuted its members for harvesting glass eels, saying the state is immune to the action under the 11th Amendment.
