Telegram Messenger Inc. must pay almost $625,000 in legal fees to Lantah LLC after dropping its trademark case following the messaging company's decision not to offer the cryptocurrency at the center of the litigation, a California federal judge has ruled.

A California federal judge said that Telegram Messenger Inc. could voluntarily drop a trademark dispute over the use of the mark GRAM for its cryptocurrency now that a lengthy legal battle with the SEC has led the company to abandon its digital currency ambitions.
