A Pennsylvania federal judge has agreed to move a string of lawsuits accusing Whatley Kallas LLP, Consumer Watchdog and a settlement administrator of inadvertently revealing the HIV status of more than 10,000 Aetna Inc. members through a bungled class action settlement mailing.

After dodging a California lawsuit brought by Aetna Inc. over their alleged role in revealing the HIV status of thousands of the insurer's subscribers, Whatley Kallas LLP and Consumer Watchdog asked a Pennsylvania federal judge Wednesday to bar Aetna from pursuing identical claims in his court.

Aetna Inc. has filed suit in Pennsylvania federal court accusing the class counsel in two underlying privacy suits against the insurer of being responsible for a settlement mailing that allegedly violated members' privacy anew by potentially revealing their HIV status and launched a new round of litigation.
