Georgia gaming company Pace-O-Matic Inc. asked a federal court Wednesday for an order canceling a former partner's trademark on the name "Pennsylvania Skill," as part of a jury verdict and subsequent settlement over the ownership of the brand.

A Pennsylvania federal jury found Friday that Pace-O-Matic's Pennsylvania arm and its affiliates had a rightful claim to the name "Pennsylvania Skill" for their game machines, and that their former distribution partner had wrongfully copied and tried to trademark it.

Georgia gaming company Pace-O-Matic Inc. told a Pennsylvania federal jury Monday that it invested years of time and work into developing a line of machines branded as "Pennsylvania Skill" games — including in litigation to prove the machines require users' skills instead of chance — only for its first choice of operator to steal the name and concept.
