Aetna Beats Suit Seeking Coverage For 'Wilderness Therapy'
A Florida federal judge has tossed a lawsuit against Aetna Life Insurance Co. seeking to recover thousands of dollars that the families of troubled teenagers paid for wilderness therapy programs in Colorado and Utah, finding that the programs aren't "residential treatment facilities" covered by the policies.

Aetna Life Insurance Co. has flouted the terms of two of its health plans by denying coverage for mental health and substance abuse treatment at wilderness programs and residential treatment centers, according to a proposed class action filed in Florida federal court Thursday.
