    A Texas federal jury on Thursday found that the co-owner of a bankrupt chain of car dealerships owes Ford's financing arm over $53 million in damages, after the dealerships were found to have defaulted on over $113 million in loans from the auto company.

    Ford Motor Credit Co. LLC has told a Texas federal judge it's entitled to more than $112 million from two West Texas dealership owners, saying it can show they covered up "what may be one of the largest floor-plan financing frauds in the history of the United States."

    Ford Sues Dealership Chain Over $40M In Defaulted Loans

    Ford Motor Co.'s financing unit has sued a chain of Texas car dealerships for $40 million, claiming the chain and its owners defaulted on financing agreements by delaying payments on sold cars and falsifying records to obtain extra loans.
