A Florida federal judge has denied a motion by Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays to dismiss a putative class action claiming the team sent unwanted text messages to a Florida man, saying it is too early to decide whether or not the man consented to the texts.

Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays are asking a Florida federal judge to end a putative class action by a Florida man who claims the team sent him unwanted text messages in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, saying he signed up for the messages and could have stopped them at any time.
