Volkswagen urged a California federal judge Monday to reject an attorney fees request from 10 consumers who faced the automaker in a 2020 bellwether trial over its "clean diesel" emissions scandal, saying the five law firms involved recovered a minuscule fraction of the $580 million they sought on behalf of the consumers.
