A Texas federal judge on Monday approved a settlement that brings to an end three lawsuits alleging Texas conducted an unconstitutional citizenship review of voter rolls, and requires the state to foot a $450,000 bill covering the challengers' attorney fees.

A Texas federal judge has blocked a number of Lone Star counties from "purging" any more people from voter rolls after state officials were accused of targeting naturalized citizens born outside the U.S. and sending letters demanding proof of citizenship.
