A Louisiana federal judge on Tuesday threw out a lawsuit against the NFL and its referees over the controversial ending to January's NFC Championship game that may have cost the New Orleans Saints a spot in the Super Bowl, a day after a state judge ordered league commissioner Roger Goodell to sit for questioning in a similar lawsuit.

A pair of New Orleans Saints fans have slammed the NFL's bid to dismiss their suit over the controversial final minutes of the team's playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams, saying they're suing because the league "failed miserably" in its self-proclaimed duty to maintain the integrity of the sport.

The National Football League has asked a Louisiana federal court to sack yet another suit by New Orleans Saints fans claiming damages over a so-called blown call in a playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and Saints, saying ticketholders have no standing to sue over being disappointed in the game's outcome.
