Several e-cigarette makers being sued by industry giant Juul Labs Inc. for patent infringement breathed a sigh of relief on Monday, after a New Jersey federal court refused to slap them with a preliminary injunction ahead of a hearing next month.

E-cigarette giant Juul Labs Inc. on Tuesday smoked its competitors with a patent infringement suit in New Jersey federal court alleging it had yanked vaping products from stores for child safety reasons only to have its competitors pack the empty shelves with kid-friendly copycat versions.
