US Sugar Sues Army Corps Over Fla.'s 'Man-Made Drought'
U.S. Sugar Corp. hit the Army Corps of Engineers with a lawsuit in Florida federal court Thursday, accusing it of creating a wasteful "man-made drought" by aggressively lowering Lake Okeechobee's water level without considering the impact on crops, the environment and nearby communities.
