A Florida federal judge on Friday declined to greenlight a nationwide class of Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill managers accusing the barbecue chain of violating the Fair Labor Standard Act by making managers exempt from overtime pay.

Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill told a Florida federal judge on Thursday that a former manager gave no evidence for class certification of her claims that she was misclassified by the restaurant chain as exempt from overtime pay, arguing that her experience was not enough to assume all similar employees were treated the same way.
