A Missouri homeowner who said noxious fumes from a Ford Motor Co. assembly and painting plant forced him inside has dropped his proposed class action after losing a bid for class certification, but left the door open for future claims.

Ford Motor Co. has asked a federal judge to toss a proposed class action brought by homeowners alleging the company's Missouri assembly and painting operations have spread noxious fumes, saying the residents have not sufficiently alleged nuisance claims.
