Nonprofit Says ICE Must Face Suit Over Vegas Detentions
An immigrant rights group has asked a Nevada federal judge not to drop U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from its suit challenging Las Vegas' post-sentence detentions of immigrants to facilitate their transfer into ICE custody, arguing the holds are unconstitutional even if they're shorter than 48 hours.

A Latino civil rights organization is challenging the constitutionality of Las Vegas' policy of detaining immigrants in city jails after they have completed their sentences in order to turn them over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a practice the group says amounts to holding individuals without probable cause.
