9th Circ. OKs Fee Cut In Progressive Deal Over Totaled Cars
A Ninth Circuit panel ruled Friday that a lower court had the discretion to decide a $5 million fee request was unreasonable in a class action in which Progressive Direct Insurance Co. was accused of shortchanging Washington state policyholders for totaled vehicles, upholding the revised $1.1 million award.

Progressive Drivers Seek $4.9M In Fees For $19M Deal
Progressive drivers have asked a Washington state federal judge to approve a $19 million deal under which class counsel are seeking $4.9 million in attorney fees for their efforts to resolve claims that the company shorted policyholders for their totaled vehicles by using a purported "projected sold adjustment" number.
