Google has urged a California federal judge to toss a case alleging the company violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, claiming the same law firms filed four cases on the issue before the current case and asking the court not to "reward" the actions of the plaintiffs.

Google broke Illinois privacy law when it collected and stored the "face prints" of millions of Google Photos users without permission, according to a lawsuit filed in California federal court that raises claims similar to a high-profile suit that was tossed in 2018.
