The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services was correct to lengthen its ban prohibiting a Philadelphia physician from billing Medicare, a Pennsylvania federal judge ruled Monday, finding that CMS' decision was backed by substantial evidence and that the doctor doesn't have protected property interest in her participation in Medicare.

A Philadelphia physician asked a federal court Thursday to lift a ban on her billing Medicare, claiming the federal government illegally lengthened the ban stemming from her obstruction of a fraud investigation and was preventing her from returning to practice at a time when the coronavirus pandemic makes her services vital.
