The Federal Circuit on Wednesday affirmed that the U.S. Department of State did not owe a construction contractor reimbursement for additional costs related to an Ebola outbreak, upholding a decision also relevant to contractual adjustment claims related to COVID-19.

Although the Ebola outbreak was nobody's fault, the Federal Circuit didn't seem to think that the U.S. Department of State was obligated to help offset the additional $1.25 million in expenses that a contractor incurred after the disease flared up near a Sierra Leone worksite.
