A group of franchisees hit Curves with a breach-of-contract lawsuit in Texas federal court on Friday, accusing the private-equity-owned gym chain of using bogus statistics and dishonest, "I smell money" sales tactics to lure prospective franchisees into opening new locations despite knowing that its business was unsustainable.
