Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has asked a federal judge to dismiss a suit in which a former client, who fled to Russia and is on the FBI's most-wanted list, accuses the law firm of fraud, saying he has no standing as a fugitive and federal court has no jurisdiction over the firm or its attorneys in the matter.

A memorabilia auction company sued Debevoise & Plimpton LLP on Saturday, saying the firm's attorneys "abysmally failed" their duties and "annihilated" the company's market value by trying to cover up their own mishandling of an SEC investigation into potential fraud.
