Union Insurance Company must provide coverage to an ice cream distributor in a suit alleging it exposed an employee to freezing temperatures, a Massachusetts federal judge ruled Friday.

An ice cream distributor told a Massachusetts federal court Wednesday that Union Insurance Co. must cover it in a worker's suit alleging that the company negligently exposed him to freezing temperatures, arguing that an employer's liability exclusion is inapplicable to the man's claims because he was not an employee.
