A California crane operator training school is fighting back against Google's bid to send to arbitration its suit accusing the tech giant of paying off Apple Inc. to not develop its own search engine, telling a California federal judge on Friday that the school's claims are for the public good.

Google told a California federal court that a lawsuit accusing it of colluding with Apple Inc. to control the online search industry must be sent to arbitration, arguing that an advertiser can't utilize new claims under California law to prolong the litigation.
