RTX Corp. subsidiary Pratt & Whitney won't be forced to hand over internal sales documents and communications as part of a $30 million feud between a competing airplane maintenance contractor and a British Airways affiliate that is playing out in an Illinois court, a Connecticut federal judge has ruled.

Calling the demands "irrelevant" and "unduly burdensome," RTX Corp.'s Pratt & Whitney division has opposed Connecticut-based requests for internal sales calculations in an underlying $30 million Illinois feud between competing airline maintenance provider Jet Support Services Inc. and Sun-Air of Scandinavia AS, a Danish affiliate of British Airways.

An airplane maintenance contractor wants a federal judge in Connecticut to force RTX Corp. subsidiary Pratt & Whitney to provide documents in an underlying $30 million Illinois feud with a British Airways affiliate, arguing the papers will prove whether the Danish regional carrier fudged P&W's numbers to wrongly influence prices.
