A law enforcement officer has asked a federal judge to certify a class of Missouri consumers who allege that Sig Sauer's P320 is defectively designed and is ready to fire as soon as a round is chambered, saying Missourians who bought the gun have been duped by Sig Sauer.

Sig Sauer can't escape a proposed class action alleging that a safety defect in its Model P320 pistol makes it prone to accidental discharges, a Missouri federal judge ruled, finding that the gun owners adequately alleged that a reasonable consumer would be misled by the gunmaker's marketing.
