McDonald's and a London-based insurer entity formally asked an Illinois federal court to terminate their dispute over the fast-food chain's claim for more than $5.5 million in outstanding coverage for property damage stemming from a high-speed vehicle crash.

McDonald's sued a London-based insurance company for $5.5 million, claiming it refuses to pay most of the coverage it owes after a California franchise was destroyed in a fire set off by a high-speed car crash, while further alleging two brokers gave the insurer an excuse to do so.
