U.K.-based insurer Beazley Underwriting Ltd. asked a Connecticut federal court not to dismiss or stay its suit against a group of footwear brands, arguing their parallel state court suit is an attempt for the companies to choose their own forum for their more than $5.6 million cyberattack claim.

Companies controlling women's footwear brands Marc Fisher, Nine West and Easy Spirit urged a Connecticut federal court to toss a suit from U.K.-based insurer Beazley Underwriting seeking to avoid coverage of a $5.5 million cyberattack, arguing that a parallel case in Connecticut state court should take priority.
