Textron Inc. has successfully ditched a pilot's lawsuit seeking to hold it liable for the manufacture and sale of an engine upgrade kit that allegedly caused his plane to crash, with a Louisiana federal judge finding the pilot pled insufficient facts to hold the parent company liable.

A Louisiana federal judge dropped several companies from a suit accusing them of making and selling faulty engine upgrade kits that caused a plane to crash after finding that they didn't have enough ties to the state to trigger jurisdiction.
