A woman suing Trulieve Inc. over unwanted text messages she says violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act told the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Thursday that she had settled her individual claims against the company.

Florida cannabis company Trulieve Inc. is urging a Florida federal court to throw out claims it violated state law and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unsolicited sales text messages, saying such messages are not considered an injury under the Eleventh Circuit, and therefore the plaintiff has no standing.

Florida cannabis giant Trulieve sent unsolicited sales texts to people whose numbers were on a do-not-call registry, according to a proposed class action filed Monday in Florida federal court.
