Carvana has escaped a proposed class action by used car dealerships accusing the resale giant of luring away customers with deceptive trade practices, after a North Carolina federal judge ruled some of their claims were usurped by state regulations.

Car seller Carvana tore into a North Carolina dealership's trade practices lawsuit in a bid to have the case scrapped, telling a federal court its contentions about state laws are "fundamentally flawed" and it doesn't allege any injury caused by the online used car retailer.
