A Manhattan federal judge has dismissed a false advertising suit against the online gambling arm of MGM Resorts International, BetMGM, after the parties agreed to participate in individual arbitration.
BetMGM LLC has told a New York federal judge that a proposed class action, which accuses the online sports-betting arm of the mega-casino operator of luring new users with a false promise of free bets, belongs in arbitration because that is what users agree to when they sign up for the service.
A proposed class action alleges deceptive advertising by BetMGM, the online sports betting arm of MGM Resorts International, saying it lures in new users with the false promise of a "free" or "risk-free" bet that isn't actually free.
