Water treatment company Evoqua Water Technologies Corp. has agreed to pay the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission $8.5 million to resolve claims that it misled investors when it falsely recognized $36 million in revenue leading up to its initial public offering, the federal regulator said Monday.
