Two companies specializing in eyelid cleaning technology have reached a deal to settle their dispute in California federal court after the court refused to dismiss the infringement allegations.

A California federal judge said Tuesday he wasn't swayed by arguments that a patent covering a purportedly new kind of eyelid-cleaning device added nothing original to the concept of cleaning eyelids, and so a lawsuit against a San Diego company called NuLids LLC lives on.
