Chicago-area power plant operator Lincoln Power told a Delaware bankruptcy judge Monday that it is in the process of negotiating a standstill agreement with regional electric grid managers over enforcement of the $39 million in penalties that drove it into Chapter 11.

Illinois power plant operator Lincoln Power on Friday filed for Chapter 11 protection in Delaware bankruptcy court, saying its nearly $158 million in debt was rendered unsustainable by nearly $39 million in penalties it racked up for failing to deliver electricity during a December winter storm.
