A Minneapolis lawyer asked a Minnesota federal judge Friday to deny Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Co.'s request to escape a breach of contract suit, saying the insurer has a duty to defend him in an underlying arbitration proceeding with a litigation finance firm.

Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company asked a Minnesota federal judge this week to be let out of a breach of contract suit brought by a Minneapolis lawyer who says the insurer should have covered his defense in an arbitration with a litigation finance firm.
