An alleged crypto fraudster who told would-be investors he was a former Marine and a onetime employee of the National Security Agency will pay over $2.2 million to end U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission claims he faces in Florida federal court.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has reached a settlement with a North Carolina resident and three of his enterprises over claims he used the companies to illegally raise over $1 million in proceeds through unregistered securities offers and sales to crypto asset investors.
