A Louisiana federal judge signed off on a $650,000 deal reached between a Hooters franchisee and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, resolving a lawsuit alleging it allowed racial harassment and failed to reinstate Black workers after a layoff.

Black workers at a Hooters restaurant near New Orleans had to routinely deal with racist remarks and were left out when the business rehired workers after a layoff, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said in a suit filed Friday.
