China-based cloud analytics company Gridsum Inc. and its CEO have been ordered to give the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission nearly $13 million after failing to respond to the regulator's claims that they funneled investor money out of the company to the relatives of executives.

SEC Says Data Co. CEO Misused IPO Funds On Family, Others
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed a suit Thursday accusing a data analytics company and its CEO of filing misleading annual statements and misusing more than $7 million from the company's 2016 initial public offering for payments to his wife, mother-in-law and other related parties.
