A New York federal judge has approved a settlement ordering bankrupt cryptocurrency lender Voyager Digital and its ex-CEO to pay $1.65 billion for misleading investors about the safety of their money prior to the firm's collapse.

The former CEO of bankrupt lender Voyager Digital was sued Thursday by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Federal Trade Commission for allegedly misleading investors about the safety of their funds prior to the firm's collapse, but the former executive claims he's being made a "scapegoat" for fallout caused by others.
