A management company and landlord being sued by Arkansas apartment building tenants who allege that the defendants' lack of maintenance at the property led to a gas leak explosion told a federal court that the lawsuit's claims were not properly pleaded and should be tossed out.

The residents of an Arkansas apartment community say in a class action that was recently removed to federal court that the owners of the property need to fork over $5.2 billion in damages because they failed to properly maintain the complex, which the renters say caused a 2022 gas leak explosion and turned the site uninhabitable.
