The state of Alaska is asking a federal court to throw out a bid by a hemp industry group to block enforcement of regulations prohibiting the sale of intoxicating hemp products, saying the regulations are not preempted by federal law.

An Alaska federal judge has rejected a bid by a group of hemp companies to bar enforcement of recent state policies reining in the sale of intoxicating products derived from hemp, saying it is unlikely the new rules are preempted by the federal bill that legalized hemp.
