The Michigan company that formerly manufactured Joy Dish Soap is scrubbing two of its lawsuits against a Connecticut private equity firm, Piney Lake Capital Management LP, that claimed the latter soiled a deal to produce the soap after purchasing the brand from Procter & Gamble.

A private equity firm that bought the Joy dish soap brand has asked a Connecticut trial court judge to nix a manufacturer's claim that the firm should be held liable for a holding company's alleged failure to pay after asking the manufacturer to ramp up production.

Alleging $12 million in losses, Michigan-based manufacturer N.V. Labs Inc., which does business as the Reforma Group, has sued Connecticut private equity firm Piney Lake Capital Management LP on allegations it dirtied a deal to produce Joy dish soap through a subsidiary after buying the brand from Procter & Gamble.
