Oil, Gas Revenue Tops List Of DOI Struggles, GAO Says

Law360, New York (March 1, 2011, 5:51 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior is still struggling to implement effective strategies for a host of issues, including oil and gas revenue collection and wildfire cost management, a U.S. Government Accountability Office report released Tuesday says.

While noting that the DOI has taken steps to implement previous suggestions from the GAO, the report highlighted several significant areas that need attention, such as the department's maintenance backlog and the lack of a security system for its computer networks.
