Diversity Efforts At Many Firms Ignore Disabled Attorneys

Law360 (July 7, 2019, 8:02 PM EDT) -- When clients began asking Sidley Austin LLP about its attorneys with disabilities, the firm discovered the numbers it had on record were less than impressive. Partner Mike Hatcher decided to do something about it.

“I use my position to make people understand that Sidley is accepting of people with disabilities,” said Hatcher, who entered law after a motorcycle crash permanently paralyzed his right arm and ended his U.S. Air Force pilot training. “Sidley just always was, since the day I showed up.”
