Deals Rumor Mill: Tesco, Nippon Life Insurance, Dalian Wanda

By Benjamin Horney (August 27, 2015, 6:21 PM EDT) -- MBK Partners has teamed up with Singapore state fund Temasek Holdings to make an offer for the South Korean unit of U.K. supermarket chain Tesco PLC, Reuters reported Thursday. Other prospective suitors that have been rumored to be placing bids include The Carlyle Group LP and a consortium comprising Affinity Equity Partners and KKR & Co. LP. Previous reports have said Tesco's South Korean unit is expected to go for about 7 trillion won ($5.9 billion), and a decision is expected soon....
